Urban journalism programs provide the opportunity for students to gain skills and experiences that fully prepares them for broadcast newsrooms. Urban universities are often positioned in areas that provide essential content for news coverage and usually multiple broadcast news stations and media organization are operated in those cities providing work opportunities beyond the university programming and uniquely different than counterpart colleges.
